Château de Montépin, Renaissance castle in Bâgé-Dommartin, France.

The circular and square towers of Château de Montépin rise above steep roofs within an expansive park that includes a rotunda and a chapel.

In 1273, Barthélémy Cholet, a resident of Bâgé, transferred two farms in the hamlet of Montépin to the Knights Templar, represented by Geoffroy.

The castle demonstrates the architectural style of the Ain region, showcasing Renaissance construction methods in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes territory.

Located in the Ain department, this private property castle is currently not open for public visitation.

The 1880 reconstruction by Monsieur de Ballore transformed this former stronghold into a residence with distinct architectural features.
