Château d'Aveny

The château d'Aveny is a château in Dampsmesnil that combines classical architectural elements from the 17th and 18th centuries across roughly 75 meters of length. The building holds 34 rooms and features a renovated, air-conditioned Grand Gallery that serves as the main reception space.

The château was originally owned by the Marquis de Broglie and purchased in 1778 by J-B-C Alain de Fayet, who undertook major restoration work through 1794. This period of transformation shaped the property into the residence it remains today.

The château features themed rooms like the Monkey Salon and Bird Salon that showcase how nobility decorated their homes. These spaces reveal the tastes and preferences that guided French aristocratic life in the 18th century.
