Château de la Coindrie, Medieval castle in La Coudre, France

The castle features a square layout with triangular gables, multiple cross windows, and mullions surrounded by a water-filled moat.

The original fortress from the 13th century, owned by Pierre Garnier, Mayor of Poitiers, burned down in 1794 during the French Revolution.

The property served as residence for generations of the Monnier family, with four members holding mayoral positions in La Coudre from 1892.

Located in the Deux-Sèvres department at postal code 79150, this private residence remains closed to public visits throughout the year.

The current structure, built in the late 19th century, incorporates both square and cylindrical towers into its Renaissance-inspired architecture.
