Biotropica is a zoo in the Léry-Poses leisure base in the Eure, Normandy, near Val-de-Reuil. It covers 10 hectares, including a 5,000 m² tropical greenhouse and outdoor grounds. Its zones include an Asian garden with red pandas and koi carp, a creek with Humboldt penguins, and an African bush with meerkats and cheetahs. A two-toed sloth hangs beneath a rough wooden branch above dense foliage, with a small shingled hut below.

Biotropica opened on 7 September 2012 as a zoological greenhouse built by the owners of the Cerza zoo. In 2015 it was renamed Les jardins animaliers Biotropica, and new zones followed: an Asian garden in 2014, a cove in 2015, an African bush in 2016. It became a temporary member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria in 2017 and a permanent member in 2018.

The park's name links "bio" and "tropica" to its 5,000 m² tropical greenhouse, the core of the 10-hectare site. Its zones are named for regions and habitats: a Jardin d'Asie (2014), a creek with Humboldt penguins (2015), an African bush (2016) and a nocturnama. It holds nearly 200 species, and in 2017 it recorded France's first captive birth of a Coendou porcupine.

Biotropica sits in the Léry-Poses leisure base in the Eure, near Val-de-Reuil in Normandy, not near Paris. The site covers 10 hectares, including a 5,000 m² tropical greenhouse and an outdoor park, so plan for both an indoor and an outdoor walk. The park receives about 200,000 visitors a year.

Biotropica recorded France's first captive birth of a Coendou prehensilis in 2017, and of a Tamandua tetradactyla. In April 2019 it received Peters's sengis and saw France's first birth of that species in July. The two-toed sloths added in October 2014 produced a first birth in 2015, and a November 2016 baby was abandoned by its mother and bottle-fed by keepers.
