Haliotika - City of Fisheries

Haliotika presents exhibitions about fishing practices, marine conservation, and the daily operations of the local fishing industry through interactive displays and multimedia presentations.

The center opened in response to growing interest in maritime heritage during the 1990s, when French coastal communities sought to preserve their fishing traditions.

The facility demonstrates traditional net-mending techniques, fish processing methods, and auction procedures that shape the daily lives of Guilvinec's fishing community.

Visitors can observe the return of fishing boats and the unloading of catches at 4:30 PM, followed by the fish auction at the adjacent market hall.

The center features a panoramic viewing area where guests watch professional fishermen sort their daily catch of langoustines, monkfish, and other local species.
