Castle of Brolles

Castle of Brolles, Louis XIII style castle in Bois-le-Roi, France.

The Château de Brolles is a Louis XIII style castle located on sprawling grounds near Bois-le-Roi. Its symmetrical architecture displays classical design elements that define the building's overall appearance.

The castle was built in 1862 during Napoleon III's reign and changed hands several times over the decades. A significant ownership transition occurred around 1900 when the property passed to new proprietors.

The estate served as a hunting destination for local landowners and neighbors who gathered here regularly. The grounds still show traces of its past uses, including gardens, orchards, stables, and storage buildings.

The castle now operates as a rehabilitation center and is not open for regular visits from the public. You can observe the building from outside and explore the surrounding grounds and estate features.

The property includes a private chapel built on the far side of the railway tracks and connected to the castle by a footbridge. This unusual arrangement came about due to tensions between a former owner and the local clergy.
