Statue of Robert Surcouf, Bronze statue near passage de la poudrière in Saint-Malo, France.

The three-meter-tall bronze sculpture shows Robert Surcouf gesturing toward his troops while holding a broken sword in his corsair outfit.

The association La Pomme initiated the statue project in 1891, leading to its creation by Alfred Caravanniez and inauguration on July 5, 1903.

The monument represents Robert Surcouf, who captured numerous British vessels between 1794 and 1810 during the Napoleonic Wars.

The statue stands at coordinates 48.65038, -2.02818, near other historical monuments within the walled city of Saint-Malo.
