Château des Noyers

Château des Noyers is a ruined 19th-century manor house where remnants of the symmetrical facade and three-story structure remain visible on its original location. The site preserves traces of the building's original architectural details and room divisions.

The manor was built in 1835 using stones from a medieval castle that previously stood about 150 meters south of the current site. The de Manneville family who owned it abandoned the property during the late 19th century.

The rooms display color preferences of 19th-century French domestic life through green, red, and blue wall treatments that visitors can still observe today. These decorative choices reveal how families of that era expressed their taste through their homes.

The grounds are accessible to visitors on certain occasions and allow you to explore the architectural remains up close. Wear sturdy shoes and be mindful of safety when moving around the damaged structures on site.

In the 1870s residents reported unexplained events such as moving furniture and strange sounds within the manor. These occurrences ultimately contributed to the family's decision to leave the property.
