Le Wonder, Artist-run space in suburban Paris, France
Le Wonder spans extensive industrial buildings and offers shared workspaces and equipment for multiple artistic disciplines such as photography, sculpture, and music production. The rooms are equipped with professional tools for woodworking, metalworking, ceramics, textile production, and film work, all available to the resident artists.
The space was founded in 2013 and transformed abandoned industrial complexes into creative areas. This conversion established a model for collectively managed artistic projects in the Paris region.
The resident artists come from various fields such as visual art, music, crafts, fashion, and cooking, and their proximity to one another naturally sparks conversations and collaborations across disciplines. Walking through the space, you notice how ideas travel freely between a sculptor's studio and a musician's practice room.
The workshops are fully equipped for hands-on artistic work, but visitors should check in advance whether spots are available for new residencies. Access depends on participation in residency programs or specific artistic practices.
The monthly residency program accepts four artists without age limits or nationality requirements. The focus stays on experimental research rather than finished works.
