Shepherds bring their herds to the alpine meadows here during summer months to graze on the high pastures. This pastoral practice shapes how the landscape looks and how the mountain is used throughout the year.
The hike to this summit is demanding and takes about five hours for the round trip of roughly 7.6 kilometers. You should prepare for the steep climb involving about 1038 meters of elevation gain and bring suitable hiking equipment.
The summit sits atop a perched syncline formation with edges of raised rock, surrounded by Urgonian limestone cliffs and Hauterivien terrain. This geological feature makes the formations around the peak interesting for those curious about rock layers and mountain building.
