The octagonal bandstand features cast iron columns that function as gutters, supporting a decorative metal roof structure in the public garden.
Built in 1881 as a simple platform for military regiment musicians, the bandstand received its protective roof addition ten years after construction.
The structure represents one of the remaining examples from a period when over four thousand bandstands were constructed throughout France between 1850 and 1914.
The bandstand requires extensive restoration work, including floor repairs, reinforcement of support posts, and reconstruction of metal structures, with funding secured.
The foundry signature 'Barthe fondeur Rodez' remains visible on the columns, marking the local craftsmanship of this architectural element.
