Kvelatsminda Church

Kvelatsminda Church is a medieval Orthodox house of worship near Gurjaani featuring two octagonal domes built with cobblestone walls and brick arches decorated with pumice stone elements. The interior contains three naves separated by pillars, with a taller central nave that ends in a horseshoe-shaped apse.

The church originated during the 8th to 9th centuries as a significant religious structure of its era. Subsequent centuries brought periods of abandonment, particularly during Persian invasions in the 17th century, which left marks on its history.
