Satsurblia Cave

Satsurblia Cave features a wide entrance of 6 meters leading to an 80-meter tunnel and contains various geological formations including stalactites and stalagmites.

Archaeological excavations initiated in 1976 revealed human occupation patterns dating from 25,500 to 24,400 years ago, followed by another period around 17,000 years ago.

The extensive collection of lithic artifacts, bone remains, and pottery discovered in the cave demonstrates the hunting strategies and daily life of prehistoric inhabitants.

The cave maintains specific temperature and humidity conditions throughout the year, requiring visitors to bring appropriate clothing and follow preservation guidelines.

Researchers found a temporal bone fragment from an individual dated to 13,300 years ago, providing substantial data about early human genetics in the region.
