Ainola, Artist's villa and museum in Järvenpää, Finland
The wooden residence features a green fireplace, lake views, and two stories designed by architect Lars Sonck in Art Nouveau style.
Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and his family lived in Ainola from 1904 until 1972, when his daughters sold the property to the Finnish government.
The villa forms part of the Lake Tuusula Artist Community, where numerous creative families established their homes in the early twentieth century.
The museum opens from May through September, displaying personal items including the grand piano given to Sibelius on his fiftieth birthday.
Both Jean Sibelius and his wife Aino rest in the garden of Ainola, surrounded by apple trees and the nature that inspired his compositions.
