Jakobstad, Coastal municipality in Ostrobothnia, Finland
Located along the Gulf of Bothnia, Jakobstad extends over 396 square kilometers and maintains a population of approximately 20,000 residents in Western Finland.
Founded in 1652 by Ebba Brahe, widow of Jacob De la Gardie, the town received city privileges from Queen Christina of Sweden at the former Pedersöre harbor.
The annual Jakobs Dagar festival in July presents musical performances, entertainment activities, and community gatherings that showcase local traditions and talents.
