Nanoq

The museum exhibits present Arctic and Antarctic regions through detailed displays of indigenous cultures, wildlife habitats, and polar environments.

Established in 1991 as Finland's first Arctic museum, Nanoq has gathered extensive collections documenting polar expeditions and northern indigenous communities.

The exhibition spaces showcase traditional hunting methods, clothing patterns, and daily practices of various Arctic populations across multiple authentic buildings.

From September to May, visits require advance booking, while during summer months the museum opens daily from 11:00 to 18:00, except midsummer weekend.

Each cottage within the forested museum grounds contains specific exhibits, creating an immersive northern environment in the Finnish countryside.
