Archipelago National Park

The park contains more than 50,000 islands scattered across the Archipelago Sea, featuring rural meadows, fishing villages, and rocky formations along the coastline.

The formation of this protected area dates back to 1983, following Finland's commitment to preserve its maritime environment and traditional island communities.

The islands reveal centuries of maritime life through preserved fishing settlements, lighthouses, and stone structures that display the evolution of coastal communities.

Visitors need to arrange transportation by scheduled ferries or private boats to reach the islands, as the park remains inaccessible by regular road networks.

The park includes fourteen land-based nature trails and two underwater paths that allow exploration of submerged cultural artifacts and marine ecosystems.
