Pyhä-Luosto National Park

The protected area spans 142 square kilometers of hills, forests, and lakes, featuring Finland's southernmost fell chain with twelve peaks reaching up to 540 meters.

The current park combines Pyhätunturi National Park, established in 1938, with the Luosto area, forming a unified protected zone in 2005.

The land carries deep connections to Sámi indigenous people, with archaeological findings throughout the area documenting centuries of traditional activities.

The park maintains marked trails for hiking and skiing, with information centers providing maps and guidance for visitors throughout all seasons.

Visitors can explore the Amethyst Mine at Lampivaara and the Isokuru gorge, Finland's deepest ravine at 220 meters.
