The facility also includes a 402 meter drag strip and approximately 3 kilometers of gravel-based rally track for different racing disciplines.
The track opened in 1987 as Finland's first purpose-built drag racing facility, following the Pieksämäki Hot Rod Association's acquisition of land from owner Pasi Häkkinen. During the 1990s, an asphalt circuit and rally track were added to expand racing options and attract more competitors.
The raceway represents a hub for local racing enthusiasts and serves as a gathering place for drivers and spectators who share a passion for motorsport. The venue reflects the pride of the community in maintaining a dedicated space for this sport within the Finnish countryside.
The facility is located at Motoparkintie 62 in Virtasalmi and is accessible from several major Finnish cities including Mikkeli, Jyväskylä, and Kuopio. Visitors should note that access roads can be narrow and winding, and should check the event schedule beforehand since operating hours vary depending on race events and practice days.
The site includes a camping area called Motomajat where visitors can stay overnight and follow motorsport events over multiple days. The proximity of accommodation allows guests to spend an entire weekend combining racing experiences with relaxation in the Finnish countryside.
