Kirkkopuisto

Kirkkopuisto is a central park in Jyväskylä featuring open grassy areas connected by paved pathways throughout the green space. The Jyväskylä City Church stands at the heart of the park, anchoring its layout and design.

The area served as Jyväskylä's primary marketplace from the 1800s through the 1930s before becoming a park. This transformation from a busy market square to a recreational space marks an important shift in how the city used this central location.
