Slavonski Brod

Slavonski Brod sits on the northern bank of the Sava River with a combination of residential areas and industrial zones. The town spreads across an elevation of about 92 meters with a mixed urban character.

The town was known as Marsonia during Roman times and served as a major river crossing point. By the 13th century it had developed into a fortified center that shaped the region for centuries.

The Djuro Djakovic industrial complex manufactures specialized machinery and has shaped local economic life since the 1920s. This factory remains a defining landmark of the town's industrial heritage.
