Brod-Posavina County

Brod-Posavina County extends along the Sava River with mountains to the north and fertile plains covering 2,030 square kilometers in southern Slavonia.

The county territory experienced substantial population growth from the mid-19th century until 2001, when it peaked at 176,765 residents before declining to 130,267 by 2021.

The region maintains agricultural traditions through wine production in two distinct sub-regions, Slavonski Brod and Nova Gradiška, featuring the Graševina grape variety.

The county connects to major European transport routes through railroads, roads, and waterways, linking Zagreb, Budapest, Belgrade, and Sarajevo within 350 kilometers.

The northern section includes the Pannonian plain, while the center contains hills, and the southern part lies within the Sava river valley reaching Psunj peak at 984 meters.
