Đakovo

Đakovo is a town set in rolling agricultural country in eastern Croatia, with a striking cathedral as its focal point and traditional buildings throughout. The main streets have a quieter pace, lined with period architecture and local shops that give the place its distinct character.

The settlement grew from Roman roots and gained mention in records from 1239 onward, becoming an important religious hub. Its prominence grew during the 1800s when the cathedral was built, shaping the town's identity for centuries to come.

A horse farm has maintained the breeding of graceful Lipizzaner horses for generations, a tradition that traces back to wartime evacuations centuries ago. These animals remain part of the working farm today and connect visitors to this particular heritage.
