Krka monastery

Krka Monastery sits alongside the Krka River and features a rectangular cloister with covered arcades and a Romanesque bell tower. These structures create an enclosed courtyard that organizes the monastic life and daily routines.

This monastery was founded in the early 1300s by Jelena Šubić and faced Ottoman attacks in the 1600s that forced the monks to flee. The community eventually returned and restored the complex, ensuring its continuity through centuries of upheaval.
