Church of St. Stephen, Roman Catholic parish church in Stari Grad, Croatia
The Church of St. Stephen stands on the eastern side of St. Stephen's Square, featuring a three-nave basilica with stones from Korcula Island.
The current structure, built in 1605, replaced a 9th-century church that served as the Diocese of Hvar cathedral until 1278.
The interior contains valuable artworks, including a triptych by Francesco di Gerolamo de Santacroce depicting the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, and St. Jerome.
The church maintains its position as the main religious center in Stari Grad, with a separate bell tower completed in 1753.
The bell tower's ground floor incorporates stone blocks from the ancient Greek city walls of Pharos, the predecessor of modern Stari Grad.
