Dominikanski samostan, Dominican monastery in Stari Grad, Croatia.
The monastery features two circular defense towers and contains the Church of St. Peter the Martyr within its fortified stone walls.
Founded in 1481 by Pope Sixtus IV and friar German of Piacenza, the monastery underwent fortification during the late 16th century Turkish invasions.
The monastery museum displays ancient Greek inscriptions from the 4th to 2nd century BC, documenting the history of Pharos settlement.
The monastery museum opens from May to October, with guided tours available at Ulica kod Svetog Petra 3 in Stari Grad.
A wooden Renaissance crucifix decorates the main altar, while Jacopo Tintoretto's Lamentation of Christ painting stands as the collection centerpiece.
