Nikola Tesla Memorial Center

The Nikola Tesla Memorial Center in Smiljan preserves the inventor's birthplace alongside an experimental station and multimedia center. The complex displays original objects, historical documents, and replicas of his inventions across multiple buildings and outdoor areas.

The center was established and opened in 2006 following severe damage to the site during the war. Restoration of the buildings allowed the memory of the scientist born in 1856 to be preserved for future generations.

The birthplace serves as a memorial where visitors see personal belongings and records from Tesla's early years. Guests can experience how the inventor's childhood surroundings shaped his curious mind.

Guided tours in multiple languages provide the best way to understand the site and receive structured information. Plan several hours to walk through all areas, especially if you want to see the demonstrations at the experimental station.

Visitors can experience demonstrations of wireless energy transfer at the experimental area, based on the inventor's actual experiments. These interactive displays show one of his most ambitious concepts in a hands-on way.
