Liberty Bridge, Bridge in Budapest, Hungary
The Liberty Bridge is the third southernmost public road bridge in Budapest, located at the southern end of the City Centre.
Constructed between 1894 and 1896 to the plans of János Feketeházy, it was opened for public traffic on 4 October 1896.
It's a symbol of national awakening and the linkage between East and West.
The bridge is easily accessible by tram, bus or on foot from the city center.
The top of the four masts are decorated with large bronze statues of the Turul, a falcon-like bird, prominent in ancient Hungarian mythology.
