Cathedral Church of St. Fachtna

The Cathedral Church of St. Fachtna is located in Rosscarbery and is the smallest cathedral in Ireland, built with a cruciform layout. Its architecture blends Gothic and Georgian styles in a compact structure that remains fully functional.

The site originates from the 6th century when St. Fachtna founded a monastery here that became the main religious center of West Cork. The building underwent major reconstruction following damage sustained during conflicts in the 1600s.
