Migdal HaEmek, city of Israel
Migdal HaEmek is a city in the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel that extends across the valley floor. Residential areas, shops, and factories intermingle in a loosely organized pattern that defines the whole urban area.
The city was founded in 1953 and was oriented toward industry from the start. In the decades that followed it grew as a center for factory work and regional settlement.
The city developed as a hub for factory workers and their families who built their lives here. Today this working-class origin shows in the neighborhoods where community spaces and local shops cluster together.
The city sits on main transport routes and is easy to reach by car or public bus. Basic services like shops, restaurants, and places to stay are spread across different neighborhoods throughout the urban area.
The city was one of the first planned industrial centers after Israel was founded. Its name means Tower of the Valley and refers to its location on the wide valley floor.
