Tel Adashim, Agricultural moshav in Jezreel Valley, Israel
Tel Adashim is a moshav in the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel, made up of homes surrounded by fields and farm installations. Each household manages its own plot, and the land around the residential area is used for flower and crop growing.
The settlement was founded in 1923 by pioneers from Eastern Europe and veterans of the Ha-Shomer movement, on land bought in 1913. It was one of the first Jewish farming communities to take root in the Jezreel Valley.
Tel Adashim is known for flower growing, and visitors walking through the moshav can see the fields sitting right next to the homes. Flowers and farm goods are sold directly by local growers, which gives the place a working-farm feel.
Overnight stays are available at the moshav, and farm products including flowers can be bought directly from growers on site. There is also an events space that can be used for gatherings.
The name Tel Adashim comes from an Arabic phrase meaning 'hill of lentils,' pointing to a tradition of growing pulses here that predates the moshav by many generations. This ties the modern settlement to patterns of farming that go back well before its founding.
