Jerusalem International YMCA Stadium, Historic stadium in central Jerusalem, Israel
The Jerusalem International YMCA Stadium featured stone walls topped with barbed wire and accommodated 6,500 spectators for soccer matches and cultural events.
The cornerstone was laid by American benefactor James N. Jarvie in August 1926, but construction continued until its official opening by General Allenby in 1933.
The stadium hosted matches between British military teams and local squads from different ethnic backgrounds during the 1930s, representing Jerusalem's international character.
The facility provided players with access to the YMCA organization's modern amenities, including showers and training equipment, marking significant improvements from previous venues.
In the early 2000s, the stadium site transformed into Crown David residential complex with 200 apartments, public gardens, and an underground sports center.
