Liberty Bell Park, Public garden in Talbiyeh district, Jerusalem, Israel.
Liberty Bell Park is a public garden in the Talbiyeh district of Jerusalem, Israel, with flower beds, open plazas, an amphitheater, basketball courts, and exhibition areas. The park runs along King David Street and offers a mix of green spaces and paved zones spread across a compact area.
The park was founded in 1976 by the Jerusalem Foundation to mark the 200th anniversary of American independence. It was conceived as a gesture of friendship between Israel and the United States at a time when ties between the two countries were deepening.
The Train Theater in the northern part of the park uses an old railway car as a stage for puppet shows and children's performances throughout the year. Families from across the city come here regularly, making it one of the most visited spots in the park for local residents.
The park has several entrances along King David Street and is easy to walk through thanks to wide, flat pathways. It is open during the day and can be visited at any time without booking in advance.
A full-size replica of the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia stands in the park, surrounded by sculptures by artists Henry Moore and Sorel Etrog. This combination of an American symbol and international artworks in an open city garden is something few visitors expect to find here.
