The Kiliyur Falls cascade drops 91 meters into the valley, forming a natural water feature within the Shervaroyan hill range of the Eastern Ghats.
The waterfall originates from the overflow of Yercaud Lake, which has been a significant water source for the surrounding region since ancient times.
Local residents of Tamil Nadu consider this waterfall as part of their natural heritage, with many families gathering here during monsoon celebrations.
Visitors need to descend 250 steep steps to reach the base of the falls, making the journey unsuitable for young children or people with mobility limitations.
The falls change their appearance through seasons, reaching maximum water flow between June and October when monsoon rains fill the Yercaud Lake upstream.
