Kiliyur Falls

Kiliyur Falls is a waterfall in Yercaud that drops 91 meters down a rocky slope, creating a powerful cascade surrounded by forest. The water flows from a lake above and reaches the base after tumbling through multiple streams.

The water feeding the falls comes from a lake above, which has supplied water to the region for centuries. This natural system became important to local communities as a source of water and as a place people visit.

To reach the base, visitors must descend roughly 250 steep steps, which requires good balance and leg strength. The pathway is not suitable for young children or those with walking difficulties.

The volume of water changes dramatically by season, reaching its peak between June and October when monsoon rains swell the upstream lake. During drier months, the flow becomes much thinner and less impressive.
