The Great Living Chola Temples are a group of Hindu temples built by the Chola dynasty.
These temples were built between the 11th and 12th century AD.
They represent the outstanding creative achievement in the architectural conception of the pure form of the Dravida type of temple.
The temples are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The site includes three great 11th- and 12th-century Temples: the Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, the Brihadisvara Temple at Gangaikondacholisvaram and the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram.
