Thanjavur Maratha Palace, Palace in Thanjavur, India
The Thanjavur Maratha Palace is a historic palace complex that exhibits the grandeur of the Maratha rule in Southern India.
Constructed by the rulers of Thanjavur Nayak kingdom in 1550 AD, it was later occupied by the Marathas.
The palace houses an art gallery, a library and a hall, which display the royal collection of manuscripts, books, maps and paintings.
It's open to public from 9 AM to 5 PM, with an entrance fee for adults and children.
The Durbar Hall of the palace is adorned with large portraits of the Maratha kings, making it a unique spectacle.
