Adhiparasakthi Siddhar Peetam

Adhiparasakthi Siddhar Peetam is a Hindu temple complex in the town of Melmaruvathur in Tamil Nadu. The grounds include several shrines, meditation halls, and a central sanctuary where the Goddess Adhiparasakthi is worshiped.

The temple was founded in the 20th century by spiritual teacher Bangaru Adigalar and grew into a major center for Sakthi worship. The movement spread beyond Tamil Nadu and attracted followers from across South India.

This spiritual center allows women to conduct ceremonies that many other South Indian temples restrict to men. Pilgrims often spend hours in the meditation halls seeking personal guidance through quiet contemplation.

Regular buses run from Chennai to Melmaruvathur, with the journey taking around two hours. The temple organizes separate lines for devotees with different purposes, helping to manage visitor flow.

The temple distributes sacred ash during special ceremonies, prepared according to Tamil Siddha tradition. Many visitors take small amounts of this ash home to use during prayers or when feeling unwell.
