North Button Island National Park

North Button Island National Park extends across 1.74 square kilometers of forest-covered terrain surrounded by coral reefs in the Andaman Sea.

The Indian government designated this small island as a protected national park in 1979 to safeguard its marine ecosystem and natural resources.

Local fishermen from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands maintain traditional practices of respectful marine resource management near the park boundaries.

Visitors need to arrange boat transportation from Port Blair and obtain necessary permits from forest authorities before entering the national park.

The waters surrounding the island contain populations of dugongs and dolphins, along with numerous sea turtles nesting on its shores.
