Arasavalli

Arasavalli is a sun temple located in Srikakulam district that showcases detailed stone carving throughout its structure. Intricate patterns and representations of divine figures appear on the walls, supporting columns, and the main tower that rises above the courtyard.

The temple was built around 545 CE during the rule of Eastern Ganga king Devendra Varma. Construction took place as a religious expression honoring the sun god during an important period of the region's past.

The temple is dedicated to Surya, the sun god, and holds deep meaning for the surrounding community. Visitors observe people praying and performing daily rituals that honor the sun and its cycles throughout the year.

The temple is open during daytime hours split between morning and afternoon periods. Visitors should wear modest clothing and be prepared for uneven surfaces and crowded conditions when pilgrims are present.
