Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, Hindu temple in Bangalore, India
Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple is a unique example of Indian rock-cut architecture.
The temple was built in the 9th century by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore.
It's known for its mysterious stone discs and the precise alignment of celestial bodies during the winter solstice.
The temple is open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM every day.
During Makar Sankranti, an annual festival, the sun's rays pass through the arches and illuminate the deity inside.
