The Indore Museum contains eight specialized galleries displaying collections of sculptures, coins, weapons, paintings, and archaeological discoveries from different periods.
Founded in 1929 under the Holkar Dynasty during Tukojirao III's reign, the museum started as part of the Nararatna Mandir educational institution.
The museum exhibits Hindu and Jain sculptures from the Hinglajgarh temples, dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, depicting deities of multiple faiths.
Located near the General Post Office, the museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM, with different entry fees for Indian and international visitors.
The numismatic gallery presents an extensive collection of coins from various periods, including Roman, Indo-Sassanian, and punch-marked specimens from ancient India.
