Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary, Protected wildlife area in Telangana, India.
The sanctuary covers 635 square kilometers of mixed terrain with forests, grasslands, and water bodies along the Kinnerasani River in eastern Telangana.
The Indian government established Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary in 1977 to protect local species, creating a natural corridor between multiple forest regions.
Local tribal communities maintain traditional practices within designated areas of the sanctuary while participating in regional conservation initiatives.
The sanctuary operates guided tours from October through March, when temperatures remain moderate and wildlife spotting opportunities increase substantially.
Recent preservation efforts brought black swans to the sanctuary in 2017, adding to the population of 4,278 deer and 1,892 wild buffalo.
