Kirori Mal College, Educational institution in North Campus, New Delhi, India
Kirori Mal College is a higher education institution in the North Campus area of Delhi University, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees across eighteen departments. The buildings include lecture halls, laboratories, and a large library spanning several floors.
The institution began in 1954 when Seth Kirori Mal took over the former Nirmala College. Rajendra Prasad, then president of India, laid the foundation stone for the current site one year later.
The campus shows everyday life at an Indian college, with students from across the country gathering in small groups under the trees. Clubs regularly organize performances, debates, and sports events that bring university activity into full view.
Visitors reach the campus most easily during weekday teaching hours when buildings are open. The library and lecture halls spread across the grounds, so a short walk helps with orientation.
The institution regularly ranks among the top national colleges and stands as one of the three best within Delhi University. Its residential facilities accommodate around 170 students, which is relatively small for an Indian college of this size.
