Malviya Nagar is a residential neighborhood in South Delhi situated between Saket and Hauz Khas. It encompasses several smaller enclaves including Geetanjali, Bhavishya Nidhi, Begumpur, Shivalik Colony, and Sarvodaya Enclave.
The neighborhood developed in the 1950s as a settlement for refugees fleeing Pakistan after the partition. Later residents arrived from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab.
The area houses the tomb of Sheikh Yusuf Qattal, a Sufi saint from the Delhi Sultanate period who died in 1526, marking its connection to medieval history.
The Yellow Line of Delhi Metro and several bus routes, including Route 413, connect the area to other parts of the city. Hospitals, banks, and schools are distributed throughout the neighborhood.
