The current structure of St. George Orthodox Church features laterite brick construction with traditional architectural elements reflecting Orthodox Christian design principles.
Following the establishment of Christianity in Kerala by Apostle Thomas in 52 AD, the church moved through six different locations before settling at its present site in 2004.
The Mylapra Perunnal celebration, from late April to May 7, brings together thousands of devotees for religious ceremonies and communal feasting.
The church maintains multiple chapels in Mundukottackal, Idakkara, Mannapuzha, and Valiyenthi to serve the wider Orthodox Christian community.
A wayside Cross at the hill's base serves as a prayer stop where vehicles pause regularly, as travelers believe it ensures safe journeys.
