Rukmini Devi Temple, Hindu temple in Dwarka, India
Located two kilometers from central Dwarka, this temple features detailed marble carvings depicting Hindu deities and traditional elephant motifs on its exterior walls.
The temple's structure dates from the 12th century, although religious texts indicate worship activities at this location began more than 2500 years ago.
The temple honors Rukmini, principal wife of Lord Krishna and considered an embodiment of Goddess Lakshmi, through daily prayer ceremonies and water offerings.
Visitors can access the temple between 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM via local transportation from Dwarka, with November through February offering favorable weather conditions.
The temple stands isolated on barren land, reflecting a mythological curse by sage Durvasa that separated Rukmini from Krishna for twelve years.
