Peddapalli district, Administrative district in Telangana, India
Peddapalli is an administrative district in northern Telangana that covers approximately 2,236 square kilometers (863 square miles). It is composed of 215 revenue villages and shares borders with Mancherial, Karimnagar, Jagtial, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts.
The district was carved out from the former Karimnagar district during Telangana's administrative reorganization in 2016. This separation reflected broader changes as the state restructured several of its districts following its formation.
The population distribution shows 92.94 percent Hindu residents, 6.01 percent Muslim residents, and 0.71 percent Christian residents across 215 revenue villages.
The district is connected through two state highways and railway links via the Secunderabad Railway Division. These transport routes make it relatively easy to reach major cities and neighboring regions.
Ramagundam, a city within the district, houses one of India's largest thermal power stations operated by NTPC. This facility draws on coal resources from the Godavari valley and serves as a major employment source in the region.
