The stadium opened its doors in January 1946, marking the first major sports facility constructed in the post-World War II period in Shiraz.
The facility bears the name of Hafez, a renowned Persian poet who shaped literature throughout centuries with his influential works.
The venue accommodates 14,000 spectators and serves as the primary location for Fajr Sepasi Football Club's home matches throughout the season.
The stadium underwent substantial renovations in 1972 as part of Shiraz's candidacy to host matches during the 1976 AFC Asian Cup.
