The complex network spans 240 hectares with thirteen dams, bridges, and canals managing water distribution from the Karun River through tunnels and channels.

Persian king Darius the Great initiated the construction in the 5th century BCE, while Roman workers completed the Caesar's Dam under Sassanid direction in the 3rd century.

The engineering system represents Persian technological advancement through water management structures that supported agriculture and sustained local communities for centuries.

Visitors can explore multiple sections of the hydraulic system, including the Salasel Castle, water mills, and the 500-meter-long Band-e Kaisar bridge-dam structure.

Three primary tunnels, including the Seh Kooreh Canal and Dahaneye Shahr, distribute water to various milling facilities through passages carved into natural rock formations.
