Qaleh Bozi, Archaeological complex of caves near Isfahan, Iran
The site comprises three distinct structures - two rock shelters and a cave situated between 1,750 and 1,810 meters above sea level.
Archaeological excavations conducted through 2008 uncovered numerous stone tools from the Middle Paleolithic period, indicating early human settlement patterns.
The recovered artifacts demonstrate the technological capabilities of prehistoric inhabitants who created bifacial implements for hunting and gathering activities.
Located 25 kilometers south-southwest of Isfahan, the site overlooks the Zaiandeh Rud River, which flows approximately 2 kilometers to the south.
The limestone mountain location provided inhabitants with access to fresh water, solar warmth during cold seasons, and diverse landscapes for hunting.
